How to play

The Royal Bank of Scotland Dream 18, in association with www.scotsman.com is a competition inviting readers to play for their chance to win a trip to the final day of The Open Championship at Royal Birkdale and play the course on Monday 21st July. Please refer to the prize section for full details of what the prize includes.

The object of the game is to attempt to match Jack Nicklaus’ Dream 18 course selection.

The game is FREE to play and allows one entry per person.

Register

To enter, you must first register by either clicking on the register button on the homepage or clicking here. Once on the registration page complete all of the requested fields. Once you have registered you can start to make your selections.

How to play

For each hole you have five options to choose from – one of which is Jack’s selection. There is a short description of the hole, including distance and par, for each of the five options, to help you make your selection.

To make your choice you must click on one of the hole selections at the foot of the page (as shown in the image on the left) and then click 'confirm selection'.

Once you have made your selection for the first hole, the second hole will appear, repeat this process until you have completed all 18 holes.

Following your final 18th hole selection, your scorecard will appear and you can make changes to any hole from your scorecard by clicking on the ‘edit’ button next to that hole. This will then re-direct you back to that hole for you to make your required change.

You can also make changes to any of your choices throughout the game at any time by clicking on ‘view my scorecard’.

Your Dream 18 Total Par must add up to a par of 72.

Your choices will automatically save if you leave the site. When you return and login, your previous choices will automatically appear. You can continue to do this as many times as necessary and make any changes before you finally submit your entry.

Submitting your entry

Once you have submitted your final entry you cannot retract or amend your selection. To submit your final entry to the competition, you must click on the ‘submit’ button underneath your scorecard. This button will only be available once you have selected all 18 holes and your total par equals 72.

You must submit your entry before the closing date of 27th June 2008. Entries submitted after the 27th will not be accepted.
